NEW YORK (April 16, 2014) – Jeanette Anderson of Caldwell has been named the 2013-14 All Met Division II women’s college basketball Player of the Year by the Met Basketball Writers Association. Deirdre Moore of LIU Post was named Coach of the Year.

The All Met teams will be honored April 22 at the 81st NIT/MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner at the Westchester Marriott, Tarrytown, NY.
A 6-1 senior forward from Lynn, Mass., Anderson averaged 18.4 ppg and 10.5 rpg en route to CACC Player of the Year honors. She led her conference in rebounding and free throws made, was fourth in scoring, fifth in FG% and eighth in blocks, and ranked No. 8 in the nation with 15 double-doubles and 16th in rebounding. Named to the All-Met First Team last year and the Second Team in 2012, she was the only active player this season chalking up more than 1,700 points and 1,000 rebounds for her career.
Also named East Coast Conference Coach of the Year, Moore guided the Pioneers (24-7, second most wins in school annals) to their first ECC regular season title, victory in 16 of their final 17 regular season games and a fourth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance. Post won its first NCAA playoff game since 1983 and advanced to its first-ever Sweet Sixteen berth. An Elmont, NY, native, Moore played at Post (1992-96), was an assistant coach of the Pioneers for 11 years and has been head coach for six seasons.
