New York (April 17, 2015) -- Darian Hooker of NYIT has been named All-Met Division II men’s college basketball Player of the Year by the Met Basketball Writers Assn.
Tobin Anderson of St. Thomas Aquinas was named Coach of the Year.

Player of the Year: Darian Hooker, NYIT
Made his one season at NYIT a memorable one. Named to the NABC All-District First Team and East Coast Conference player of the year, Hooker set an ECC single-season record for points with 736, becoming the first ECC player to reach the 700-point plateau. Led the Bears (14-15), ECC and the nation with 28.3 ppg. Topped conference in field goals made (232), 3-point goals (83), free throws made (189) and FT percentage (87.1%). Scored in double-figures in every game; topped 40 points three times and had 30-plus in 12 games. Career-high 43 points against Bridgeport is third all-time in school single-game record book. In addition to scoring prowess, led ECC with 4.8 assists per game (46th in nation).

Coach of the Year: Tobin Anderson, St. Thomas Aquinas
Also named East Coast Conference coach of the year. Guided Spartans to 17-3 conference mark and 21-11 overall record. Won ECC regular season title; lost in final of conference tourney. STAC was 2nd in ECC in steals per game (8.1); 4th in FG pct (45.3%), FT pct (71.0%), assists per game (13.3). Allowed fourth fewest points in conference. After two seasons at STAC has a 36-25 coaching record.
