Jared Jordan, a senior guard at Marist, who hails from Hartford, Conn., was named the 74th recipent of the Lt. Frank J. Haggerty Award, as the top player in the Metro area, from the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. The annual NIT/MBWA awards dinner was held at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ on April 10, 2007  128

The first player to lead the nation in assists in consecutive seasons since Avery Johnson of Southern University 20 years earlier, Jared Jordan averaged 17.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 8.7 assists as a senior.

The first Marist player to be selected MAAC player of the year, Jordan played with the New York Knicks in the preseason before starting a career in Lithuania. He is still playing professionally in Europe.
