Hofstra's Wright-Foreman, Purchase's Lott Win First 2018-19 Weekly Honors
 
NEW YORK (Dec. 4, 2018) --- Justin Wright-Foreman of Hofstra in Division I and Elijah Lott of Purchase in Divisions II-III have been named Men’s Players of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Assn.
 
The designations, for games played Nov. 26-Dec. 2, are unique in that they encompass players from 73 Met area schools across Divisions I, II and III.
 
A 6-2 senior guard from Queens, NY, Wright-Foreman averaged 24.0 points, 4.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in leading the Pride (5-3) to two victories last week, shooting 61% (20-of-33) from the field and 50% (4-of-8) from 3-point range.
 
He began the week with a 28-point performance in a 94-86 homecourt victory over Siena, adding a team-high four assists with 12-of-19 (63%) shooting from the field. Wright-Foreman, the leading scorer in the Colonial Athletic Assn and No. 3 in the nation (26.9 ppg), followed with an all-around 20 points, five team-high assists, five rebounds and two steals in a 78-52 road win over Kennesaw State.
 
A 6-3 junior guard from East Greenbush, NY, Lott --- who also was named the Skyline Conference player of the week --- averaged 32 points, 11 rebounds and six assists per game, and shot 66% (26-of-39) from the field in leading the Panthers (4-2) to two victories at home last week.
 
In recording back-to-back double-doubles, Lott posted 31 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in a 104-92 win over Manhattanville, then followed with 33 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in an 85-79 triumph over Sarah Lawrence. He has now registered four double-doubles in SUNY Purchase’s six games.
