Fordham's DeWolfe Wins Women's Division I Player of the Week
NEW YORK (Dec. 7, 2021) ---
Anna DeWolfe of Fordham has been named Division I Women’s Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designations, for games played Nov. 29-Dec. 5, are unique in that they encompass players from 69 Met area schools across Divisions I, II and III.
A 5-8 junior guard from Cumberland, ME, tri-captain DeWolfe --- who also was named the Atlantic 10 Conference player of the week --- played all 80 minutes and scored a season-high 28 points in both games at home last week for the Rams (6-3). She shot 60% from the floor, including 50% from beyond the arc, and was 7-of-7 at the free throw line.
In a 71-59 triumph over Stony Brook, DeWolfe matched her career-high of 11 field goals (on 18 attempts), with four 3-pointers plus a team-high five assists and three steals. Along with 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting in a 76-67 win over Princeton, she posted three treys, three assists and three steals.
DeWolfe is the Atlantic 10 leader in scoring with 19.0 ppg.
