Being named All-Met is unique in that there are 36 colleges and universities and more than 500 players under the MBWA Division III men’s umbrella.

The 2024-25 All-Met teams will be honored at the 92nd MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner on Thursday, April 24, at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, NY. The Haggerty dinner is the longest running, media-managed college basketball awards program in the United States.

A 6-0 senior guard from South Amboy, NJ, Gorman --- who was an All-Met First Team selection in 2023-24 --- this year was selected the New Jersey Athletic Conference player of the year as well as being named to the NABC All-America Second Team and D3hoops.com All-America Third Team.

He led the Roadrunners (21-8, 13-5 NJAC) in scoring for the third straight season. His 617 points this year (22.0 ppg) were the second-best in a single season for the program, and ranked No. 2 in the conference and No. 14 nationally in Division III.

Starting and playing in 28 of his team’s 29 games, Gorman averaged 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 47.0% from the floor overall, 42.5% from beyond the 3-point arc and 85.5% at the free throw line. He produced 19 games with 20-plus points and four games with 30-plus, including a career-high 39 points in February against Stockton, and led the team with 68 3-point goals.

With Ramapo receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, Gorman recorded 25 points and eight assists in a first round win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and 25 points with nine rebounds in a close second round loss to Mary Washington. Gorman scored 1,696 career points in 102 games played at Ramapo, third-on the school’s all-time scoring list.

In addition to his many honors, Gorman was named to the NABC All-District 4 First Team and picked to play in the NABC Division III All-Star game at the site of the Final Four. D3hoops.com placed him on its Region 4 First Team and named him regional player of the year.

Gorman is the fifth MBWA Division III men’s Player of the Year from Ramapo. He was preceded by Charles Ransom, 2003; Amin Wright, 2005; Ahmad Mobsy, 2007; Thomas Bonacum, 2017.    1448

Klatsky has guided the Violets to an NCAA Tournament berth in each of his three seasons at the helm, and this year took NYU (29-2, 13-1 UAA) through the playoffs and into the national championship game where they fell 64-60 to Trinity. He is the second recipient from NYU to be named All-Met Coach of the Year, preceded four times by Joe Nesci (1992-93-94, 2007).

Among the NYU highlights this season: 29 wins is the most overall in team history; the Violets captured their second consecutive University Athletic Association title and the first outright as regular season champs with a program-record 13 league victories; NYU was fourth in the nation in team field goal percentage (49.11%) and 15th in the NCAA ranks in assist/turnover ratio (1.52).

Klatsky and his assistants were named UAA coaching staff of the year. Klatsky individually was selected NABC District IV coach of the year and 2025 Red Auerbach national coach of the year by the non-profit Jewish Coaches Association.

A 2003 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, where he played basketball for four seasons and set a then single season school assists record, Klatsky came to New York after 11 years as an assistant at Division I Colgate. He also was on the staff previously at Stevens (2007-11).

A native of Holmdel, NJ, who resides in Glen Ridge, NJ, Klatsky’s career coaching record at NYU is 68-16 (.810 W-L pct).
