FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Livermore, Pabon Selected WBB Players of the Week
NEW YORK (Dec. 22, 2015) ---
Erika Livermore of Fairleigh Dickinson and
Bri Pabon of Manhattanville have been named Women’s Division I and Divisions II-III Players of the Week, respectively, by the Met Basketball Writers Assn.
The designations, for games played Dec. 14-20, are unique in that they encompass players from 74 Met area schools across Divisions I, II and III.
Additionally, with Anthony Maestre of Manhattanville named the Men’s Divisions II-III player of the week, this is the first time since the MBWA weekly honors were revived last season that men’s and women’s players have hailed from the same school in the same week. Further, that rare honor has only occurred once before in the history of the program, which spanned five seasons from 2004-05 through 2008-09, when Hofstra’s Carlos Rivera and Vanessa Gidden earned player of the week accolades on Feb. 26, 2007.
A 6-1 senior center from Nazareth, PA, Livermore --- who was named Northeast Conference co-player of the week for the second straight week --- averaged 23.5 points, 15 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in a 1-1 week for FDU's 1-1 week at home for the Knights (3-7). In doing so, she notched her 45th and 46th career double-doubles and is the active NEC leader and is fourth in Division I.
Livermore had a season-high 28 points in an 81-75 win over Monmouth and tied a season-high with three blocks. She posted 19 points and 15 rebounds an 87-76 loss to UMass Lowell, with 11 of those rebounds coming off the offensive glass.
A 5-2 senior guard from Newington, CT, Pabon --- whose first name is pronounced "Bree" --- averaged 24.5 points on 18-of-27 shooting, along with 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals as Manhattanville (7-2) won a pair of non-conference games last week.
She scored 21 points to go along with four steals and five rebounds in a 71-63 win at SUNY Oneonta. Pabon registered 28 points on 13-of-18 shooting and dished out nine assists in an 80-67 home win over Albertus Magnus as the Valiants tied for the third-best nine-game start in program history and the best since 1984-85.

Players receiving MBWA Women’s Divisions II-III Honorable Mention for the week: Shalette Brown, FDU Florham; Samantha Burden, St. Thomas Aquinas; Erin Copeland, Mercy; Kirsten Dodge, Pace; Elisabeth Gully, Queens; Karlie O’Driscoll, Caldwell.
