L'Amoreaux (Fairfield) Earns Second Met Writers Div. I Weekly Honor for This Season

NEW YORK (Dec. 23, 2025) --- Kaety L'Amoreaux of Fairfield University has been named Division I Women’s Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association. 
 
The designation, for games played Dec. 15-21, is unique in that it encompasses players from 21 Met area Division I schools.
 
This is L'Amoreaux's second career MBWA Player of the Week award, earning her first two weeks ago for games played Dec. 1-7.

A 5-7 junior guard from Endwell, NY, L’Amoreaux --- who was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference player of the week for the fourth time this season --- averaged 24.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals as the Stags (8-3) defeated Rider 84-58 on the road Friday and beat Merrimack 84-65 at home on Sunday.
 
Leading Fairfield in scoring in both games, L’Amoreaux shot 57.6% (19-of-33) from the field, including 50.0% (8-of-16) from 3-point range.
 
She posted 25 points along with five rebounds, six assists and three steals against Rider.
 
L’Amoreaux closed the week with 23 points, nine rebounds, three assists and four steals against Merrimack.
 
The MBWA now takes a two-week holiday break from games to be played in its Players of the Week program and will return with its next set of selections on Jan. 13 for games played Jan. 5-11.
 
Players receiving MBWA Division I Honorable Mention for the week: Marija Avlijas, Columbia; Faith Blackstone, Rutgers; Brooke Moore, St. John’s; Amelia Wood, Sacred Heart.
