NEW YORK (Feb. 24, 2026) ---
Erik Pratt of Stony Brook University has been named Division I Men’s Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Feb. 16-22, is unique in that it encompasses players from 21 Met area schools in Division I.
This is the second MBWA weekly honor for Pratt, who was previously awarded Jan. 20.
A 6-5 graduate guard from Lake Worth, FL, Pratt --- who also was named Coastal Athletic Association player of the week --- led the Seawolves (17-11, 9-6) to homecourt victories last week over Drexel (72-69) and Hampton (79-72).
He averaged 27.5 points in the two games, shooting 51.4% (18-of-35) from the field, including 62.5% (5-of-8) from distance. He also logged an average of 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals.
Pratt began the week by notching 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists in a Monday win over Drexel.
He then followed on Saturday against Hampton with his third performance of 30-or-more points this season, registering 34 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the floor, a perfect 4-of-4 beyond the arc and 8-of-11 accuracy at the free throw line. Pratt also had six boards, two assists and two steals in the triumph.
This was the final week of the MBWA Players of the Week selections for the 2025-26 season. Please note, the 93rd annual All-Met Haggerty Awards dinner is scheduled for Thursday evening, April 23, 2026, at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, NY.
