Tanasha Mills of Dominican has been named Women's Divisions II/III Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Nov. 28-Dec. 4, is unique in that it encompasses players from 45 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.
A 5-5 sophomore guard from New City, NY, Mills --- who also was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference player of the week --- averaged 19.5 points, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in a 2-0 CACC week for the Chargers (5-4).
Mills in the two games canned 50% of her shots (10-of-20) from the field, including a perfect 3-of-3 from 3-point range, and nailed 80% of her shots (16-of-20) at the free throw line.
In an 81-62 road win at Felician on Nov. 30, Mills led the Chargers with 24 points. She set the pace again at home on Dec. 3, registering 15 points and four assists in a 70-55 victory over Post.
