Terrell Fullerton of York has been named Divisions II/III Men’s Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Jan. 16-22, is unique in that it encompasses players from 45 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.
A 6-0 junior guard from Brooklyn, NY, Fullerton --- who also was named the CUNY Athletic Conference player of the week --- averaged 24.5 points, 9.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 60.6% (20-of-33) from the floor and 87.5% (7-of-8) at the free throw line as the Cardinals (5-13) outlasted homestanding Hunter 121-115 on Wednesday and defeated visiting Brooklyn 88-70 on Friday.
Fullerton recorded his third double-double this season against Hunter, posting game highs of 28 points on 11-of-14 accuracy from the field to go with a whopping 14 assists, while adding four rebounds and two steals.
He closed the week against Brooklyn with 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists in what was his sixth consecutive game scoring over 20 points.
Among the CUNY hierarchy this season, Fullerton ranks third in scoring (18.5 ppg), third in assists (4.9 apg), fourth in free throw percentage (79.5%) and eighth in steals (1.5 spg). His 4.9 assists per game rank him 45th nationally in Division III.
