Jenna Jordan of Adelphi University has been named Divisions II/III Women's Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Dec. 11-17, is unique in that it encompasses players from 48 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.
A 6-1 graduate forward from Valley Cottage, NY, Jordan recorded an impressive double-double of 30 points and 17 rebounds in 29 minutes on the court last Tuesday as the Panthers (4-6) defeated Staten Island 75-49 at home in their lone game of the week.
Jordan shot 66.7% from the field (12-of-18) and 85.7% at the free throw line (6-of-7) as she equaled her career-high in scoring and set a new career mark in rebounding.
The MBWA Players of the Week program will take a two-week holiday break and resume with games played Jan. 1-7. Nominations will have a deadline of 1 pm on Jan. 8 with winners announced on Jan. 9.
