NEW YORK (Dec. 12, 2023) ---
Jada Thompson of Ramapo College has been named Divisions II/III Co-Women’s Players of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Dec. 4-10, is unique in that it encompasses players from 48 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.
A 5-6 senior guard from Sicklerville, NJ, Thompson --- who also was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference player of the week --- averaged a double-double of 19.0 points and 13.5 rebounds in leading the Roadrunners (5-5) to a 2-0 homecourt week with a 58-48 victory over NJCU last Wednesday and a 78-72 triumph over Rowan on Saturday.
Against NJCU she tallied 17 points and 16 rebounds as well as providing six assists.
Thompson recorded 21 points and 11 rebounds against Rowan as she notched her third consecutive double-double.
This was the first MBWA weekly honor of her career for Thompson as well as representing a weekly sweep for Ramapo with Peter Gorman winning the men’s Divisions II/III award.
