NEW YORK (Dec. 10, 2024) ---
Xaivian Lee of Princeton University has been named Division I Men’s Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Dec. 2-8, is unique in that it encompasses players from 21 Met area Division I schools.
A 6-4 junior guard from Toronto, Ontario, Lee averaged a well-balanced 17.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.5 steals in the Tigers (7-4) two away games last week against Saint Joseph’s and Furman.
Lee became the first player in program history to record a triple double in a 77-69 victory Tuesday at Saint Joseph’s when he registered 18 points on 50.0% shooting (7-of-14) from the floor along with 13 rebounds, 10 assists and two steals.
Lee’s triple double is the first by a Tiger since assists were recorded by the school beginning in the 1974-75 season. His 18 points tied the team-high while his 13 rebounds were both a game and career-high, as were his 10 assists.
In a 69-63 loss at Furman on Saturday, Lee posted 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and one steal.
