NEW YORK (Jan. 13, 2026) ---
Caroline Peper of New York University has been named Divs. II/III Women’s Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Jan. 5-11, is unique in that it encompasses players from 49 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.
This is Peper's first career MBWA weekly honor.
A 6-0 senior forward/guard from South Easton, MA, Peper --- who also was selected the University Athletic Association player of the week --- scored nearly half the points for the Violets (12-0, 1-0) in NYU’s only game last week, a 79-49 victory on Saturday at Brandeis.
Peper registered 37 points and tied her own program record with 11 made 3-pointers, nailing 11-of-22 tosses from 3-point range. She added a game-high three steals in the contest.
As two-time defending women’s Division III champions and currently ranked No. 1 in the nation, NYU recorded its 74th-straight victory, the fourth-longest streak in the history of NCAA women's basketball at all levels.
