Stephanie Formby of Felician University has been named Divisions II/III Women’s Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Feb. 10-16, is unique in that it encompasses players from 49 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.
This is the first MBWA weekly award for Formby.
A 6-2 freshman center-forward from Strathalbyn, Australia, Formby --- who was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference rookie and player of the week --- averaged 29.0 points and 10.0 rebounds during a 1-1 week of two overtime games for the Golden Falcons (9-16).
She registered 30 points and six rebounds in a 69-65 OT homecourt loss to Post on Tuesday.
Formby followed with 28 points and 14 rebounds in a 67-60 OT victory at Bloomfield on Saturday.
