NEW YORK (Feb. 8, 2022) ---
Lauren Schetter of Pace has been named Women's Divisions II/III Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Jan. 31-Feb. 6, is unique in that it encompasses players from 48 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.
It is the second time this season that Schetter has been named Met Player of the Week, having been previously honored on Dec. 14.
A 5-9 graduate student forward from Beacon, NY, Schetter averaged 26.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks in a 2-0 week for the Setters (17-4), who lead the Northeast 10 Conference’s Southwest Division with an 11-3 league record. She shot an efficient 46.5% (20-of-43) from the field while nailing 100% (11-of-11) of her free throws.
Schetter produced her sixth double-double of the season (20 points, 10 rebounds), along with three blocks and three steals, in the Setters' midweek 58-53 triumph over visiting New Haven.
She followed that with a career-high 33 points over the weekend in a 70-62 victory at Saint Rose, adding six rebounds and four steals.
