NEW YORK (Jan. 10, 2023) ---
Gianna Gotti of Brooklyn has been named Women's Divisions II/III Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Jan. 2-8, is unique in that it encompasses players from 45 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.
A 5-6 senior guard from Oyster Bay, NY, Gotti --- who also was named the Division III CUNY Athletic Conference player of the week --- averaged 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 steals and 4.5 assists in helping the Bulldogs (6-7) nail down a pair of CUNYAC victories last week.
Gotti poured in 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a Wednesday 75-63 win at home over John Jay.
She closed the week with a double-double, again canning 26 points to go with 10 steals in a 94-51 triumph on Friday at Medgar Evers.
