Brooklyn's Gotti Earns Back-to-Back Women's Divs. II/III Weekly Awards

NEW YORK (Jan. 17, 2023) --- Gianna Gotti of Brooklyn has been named Women's Divisions II/III Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association for the second consecutive week.

The designation, for games played Jan. 9-15, is unique in that it encompasses players from 45 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.
 
A 5-6 senior guard from Oyster Bay, NY, Gotti --- who also was named the CUNY Athletic Conference player of the week for a second straight week and the third time overall this season --- averaged 29.5 points in registering two double-doubles, along with 8.0 steals, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists as the Bulldogs (8-7) collared a pair of homecourt CUNYAC triumphs last week.
 
Gotti posted 24 points, 11 rebounds and six steals in Wednesday’s 75-62 victory over Baruch. On Friday, in an 83-75 win over Hunter, she scored a career-high 35 points and came up with 10 steals, seven assists and four rebounds.
 
Brooklyn, which leads the CUNYAC with a 5-0 conference record, is riding a four-game winning streak.
