NYU's Bruns Captures MBWA Women's Divs. II/III Player of the Week

NEW YORK (Jan. 31, 2023) ---  Natalie Bruns of New York University has been named Women's Divisions II/III Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.

The designation, for games played Jan. 23-29, is unique in that it encompasses players from 45 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.

A 6-1 junior forward from St. Louis, MO, Bruns led the WBCA’s No. 6-ranked Violets (15-2) to a pair of homecourt victories last week with an output that included a University Athletic Association single game record-tying 10 blocks enroute to a triple-double showcase.

Bruns cashed in 16 points, 14 rebounds and four assists along with the 10 blocks on Friday in a 77-52 defeat of Carnegie Mellon. The blocked shots achievement equaled the all-time league record and is the third-highest one-game total nationally in Division III this season.
