NEW YORK (Feb. 21, 2023) ---
Briana Lee of Felician University has been named Women's Divisions II/III Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The designation, for games played Feb. 13-19, is unique in that it encompasses players from 45 Met area schools across Divisions II and III.
A 5-9 junior guard-forward from Jersey City, NJ, Lee --- who also was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference player of the week --- averaged a double-double with 21.5 points and 13.0 rebounds to go with 5.0 steals and 3.5 assists as the Golden Falcons (10-13) defeated Bloomfield 79-69 in overtime on the road Tuesday and clipped Bridgeport 69-59 back at home on Saturday.
Lee posted a double-double with 24 points and 15 rebounds, adding five assists, four steals and one block, in the OT win over Bloomfield.
She finished the week with another double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, adding two assists, six steals and one block, in the defeat of Bridgeport.
Lee currently leads the CACC this season in scoring at 18.4 ppg (No. 31 nationally in Division II), rebounding with 11.9 rpg (No. 6 in the nation) and double-doubles with 14 (10th nationally).
